Naples and Campania are the best areas to visit if your children enjoy exploring outdoors. There are gladiator battlefields, subterranean ruins, thermal pools, volcanoes and coastal caves. The Dolomites are a great choice if your family enjoy winter sports and there are activities suitable for all ages. Anywhere along the coast of Italy will give you the option of spending time on the beach with the kids or trying some fun watersports. Don’t forget the islands too as these usually have a variety of activities for children in stunning surroundings. Of all the islands, Sardinia and Sicily are the best choices for families.

Eating Out

Eating out is an important element of a vacation for most people. When you are abroad with your family, you need to find restaurants that are family-friendly. Fortunately, most restaurants, cafes, and bistros in Italy are extremely family-friendly. Family is important to the Italians and this is reflected in the atmosphere of many restaurants. Most restaurants offer a children’s menu and those that don’t will usually accommodate requests for smaller portions from the main menu.
