MAJOR OLIVE OIL SCAM REVEALED -And How to Spot the Real Stuff

Authentic and pure olive oil is virtually overflowing with health benefits. It is extremely rich in antioxidants and monosaturated fats. It is natures gift to earth which is why we should not alter and overprocess what is naturally so beneficial. According to an  NPR interview, it is actually possible that some Americans have never had pure olive oil in their home at any point!


Back in 2007, U.S. Marshals busted into olive oil producing facilities in New York. They found olive oil being formulated almost entirely with soybean oil! The value of this bust was nearly $700,000! Another study has recently confirmed that approximately 70% of olive oil sold in the United States is mixed with various other oils including canola, peanut, and sunflower oil. California University partook in a study that included 124 different oils. The study concluded that over 70% of the samples had failed tests.

It can be difficult to truly know what is in your olive oil. Fortunately, you are able to perform your own test to determine if your olive oil is pure. Simply store your olive oil in the fridge for around 30 minutes. If the oil becomes hardened, this means that it is almost definitely mixed with other cheaper oils. If it does not, this means that it is more likely to be pure.

You may be asking yourself, “How do I know which oil to pick up?” It is important to stay away from olive oil that is labeled “light” because this is the absolute worst type on the market. There are definitely features to look for when purchasing olive oil. If you are going for olive oil from California, be sure that it has the seal from the California Olive Oil Council—COOC Certified Extra Virgin. Authentic olive oil from Italy includes a stamp on the bottle with a “100% Qualita Italiana” label. If you are looking for olive oil in North America, look for an NAOOA Certified Oil stamp on the front of the bottle. Olive oil deteriorates in the light so refrain from buying olive oil in light containers and look for dark bottles whenever possible. Below you will find the olive oils that have failed and passed!

  2. Thinly veiled advertisement for the oils that have “passed”. I’ve seen this exact article, word for word, on other sites through the years. Do your own research before you believe statements with no basis in fact.
