ACHI 2nd Annual Bocce Tournament

Recap of ACHI 2nd Annual Bocce Tournament!

Bocce Touranment

We are sincerely thankful to all who came to the tournament. The Italian-American community united on August 21st for the Angelo Caputo and Hardcore Italian 2nd Annual Bocce Tournament! We had 48 teams, including numerous from the Chicagoland area. We even welcomed team “Bada Bing” from Philly! The day was full of laughter, famiglia, entertainment, and BOCCE!

Meatball Eating Contest

Our paisans gave it their all and chowed down on delicious La Bella Romana meatballs from Caputos! They ate as many as they could in three minutes. Ultimately, Michael Devino took the win! Congrats, Michael!

Mora

To add even more excitement to the day, the bocce players played morra! Morra is a hand game that dates back to the ancient Romans! It is a game of prediction and numbers. Each player reveals their hands while simultaneously yelling out a number. Any player who guesses the total number of fingers revealed by each player combined scores a point! Now that’s hardcore Italian!

Champions

Team “The Big Spacones” gave it their all and won! Congratulations to Gina, Greg, Anna, and Anthony Spacone!
