Italy’s Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has placed the entire country on lockdown as the coronavirus spreads.
People will no longer be allowed to meet in public areas such as movie theaters, gyms, and bars as they will be closed. Sporting events, funerals, and weddings are also cancelled during this time.
Schools and universities will now remain closed until April 3rd, two weeks more than the original date of March 15th.
Giuseppe Conte has advised all Italian residents to stay home at all costs. Unless it’s for work or for an emergency, people will need to remain in their homes.
At this time, there have been approximately 9,100 confirmed cases in Italy with over 450 deaths.
