McDonald’s Loses Appeal to Open near Rome Ancient Baths

Lazio courts have rejected McDonald's appeal to open a location near Baths of Caracalla in Rome, rightfully so.

According to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the Lazio Regional Administrative Court (TAR) denied McDonald’s appeal for the construction of a location near the third-century Baths of Caracalla.

It was just last summer that McDonald’s began creating a McDrive branch at a large privately-owned garden center. This would inevitably convert the Eurogarden shop building into a 250-seat fast food restaurant. The mayor rapidly suspended the project and as a result, Italy’s culture minister denied authorization for the project.
