Dolce Vita Gelateria: Scooping Up Italy In South Jersey

If you're looking for authentic gelato, taught by the Italians themselves, you have to try Dolce Vita Gelato in New Jersey. Here's everything you need to know about the owners, the business and their connection to Hardcore Italians.

Nick and Kim Corso are from Williamstown, New Jersey. Having Sicilian roots, the couple have always loved to visit Italy, specifically San Gimignano, Tuscany. But their journey to becoming Dolce Vita Gelateria did not start there. Nick sold welding machines for 12 years. However, this was not the true passion of the future gelato chef. “The only thing I looked forward to was visiting Italy once a year.” This is when Nick decided to take the leap and bring authentic Italian gelato to South New Jersey.

The Gelateria officially opened on April 21st, 2023, but is planning to have a grand re-opening on March 21st, 2024, so mark your calendars. This shop not only brings fresh, authentic gelato to the States but also imports a plethora of Italian goods for people to buy. From fresh coffee to Hardcore Italian merchandise, the Corso’s are passionate about bringing Italian culture to the States! When is the last time you have been in a restaurant where even the customers are speaking Italian? This restaurant eats, sleeps, and breathes our ancestral roots. The Corsos have even been working with a professional Italian tutor from Puglia, Italy to come into the store so people and children can learn the language. How nice!

Nick Corso not only took classes in Italy to learn the native skills of making gelato from Italians but also learned the language to emphasize his goal of appreciation for the culture as well as allowing him to communicate with small vendors that will ensure top quality products that wouldn’t be available by traditional resources. This highlights the dedication that Nick has to bring authentic ingredients from Italy off of the mainstream chain. “The flavors just melt in your mouth,” and people actually thank Nick Corso for creating the most delicious gelato, and a sense of Italian community. I’m looking forward to the re-grand opening on March 21st, and can’t wait to see what else the Gelateria will bring to the Italian community and New Jersey.

Dolce Vita Gelateria and Hardcore Italians are new partners. Our team of designers, Gianna and Mike Senior collaborated on the Gelateria’s design and it is so cool! So not only can you shop for Hardcore Italian merchandise in the shop, but you can also see the Hardcore Italians logo on the back of all Dolce Vita employee shirts.
