So if there are 2,166,572 Italian Americans in the state of New York, and of those, 2,164,967 live in New York City (including all 5 boroughs), thy means that there are only 1,605 Italian Americans living in New York but outside of New York City?
I don’t think the numbers check out. I have more than 1,605 Italian Americans in my suburban Long Island town, and I live in a comparably small town.
Hell, just go up to Buffalo and check out the Italian American population there.
It’s a nice ideas and I agree that New York has the highest Italian American population, but this is way off.
I was about to post the same thing. Long Island has a huge Italian population. The 2.6M number may be correct but the breakdown is way off
I know that it’s not now but when I was growing up the town I lived in was widely known for being one of the most populated Italian American towns. I live in East Haven, CT. I was told this was a fact. I believe it too because everywhere you went in East Haven there were Italian Americans.
I live in Milford. CT has a huge Italian -American population! CT should be much closer to NY as far as population.
Rhode Island has the highest percentage of italian-americans though, followed by CT, NJ, NY , and MA
Agree! NY and NJ are high, but the southern New England states are, too.
I agree this is way off. Check out the central part of the state, Geneva, Seneca Falls Auburn
they are heavily populated with Italian immigrants.
Most Italian should be determined by % of the population.
Small towns are full of us!
Gee if Florida has so many of us, why in the heck can’t I get a half way decent given up on good pizza and a meal down here? And please don’t tell me its the water do a ton of cooking at home and my food taste the same as it did when I left NY 11 years ago.
California? Do they really count as Italian?
