The Italian American Veterans Museum is offering a unique opportunity to hear the perspectives of three WWII Veterans on June 9th at 2:00 p.m. Each have varied experiences having served in different branches of the military and on different fronts.
Sargeant Edward Malatesta (pictured left) fought throughout Italy and into France with the Army until being taken out of the war by mortar fire. Marie Sartor Pawelek (pictured center) was a Women’s Army Corps Medic who pioneered the use of music therapy. She utilized this treatment at Walter Reed for patients suffering from PTSD. Carl Liture was a Navy Machinist Mate (pictured right) who served on the Shangri-La and witnessed the surrender of the Japanese on the deck of the Missouri.
Experience a once in a lifetime discussion, encompassing three centuries of remarkable life experiences with these distinguished and honorable figures. The museum’s knowledgable curator, Steve Corbo, will be moderating this lively discussion. This event will be held in collaboration with the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans and Onesti Entertainment.

Will this program be available live-streamed or otherwise recorded for viewing? I live in Pennsylvania and would not be able to attend. I am the President of the Central PA Lodge of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America. I have visited the Sicily-Rome American Military Cemetery several times where are buried/memorialized approximately 11,000 souls who gave their lives for the liberation of Italy, many of whom are Italian Americans. Thank you.
