Mouth Watering Italian Dipping Oil

Bread dipped in olive oil is a classic loved by everyone. No one would ever tire of it, but what if you wanted to just give it a flavorful twist? This simple recipe offers loads of flavor on so many levels without alot of time or effort. The original recipe is listed below with a few extra add on options if you’re feeling extra adventurous or just want to tailor it to your preferences.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup extra virgin oilve oil
  • 1/3 cup  parmiggiano reggiano
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 cup parsley chopped finely
  • flakey salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Feel free to substitute or add whichever herbs you prefer to the parsley. Basil and oregano are favorites as well. Other great add ons: Chopped olives, red pepper flakes, black pepper, onion, shallots and lemon zest to taste.

Add all of the ingredients together, mixing well. The key is to chop everything finely. Use a whisk or food processor if that is easier. Add as much oil as is necessary to have a thick but soupy mixture. Be sure to have plenty of crusty bread or white focaccia available to dip. You may want to make a double batch since it goes fast!
