Meet Dax Flame: Madison Patrello’s Journey from YouTube Star to Actor and Back

Dax Flame is one of the more interesting personalities in digital entertainment today. Born Madison Patrello on November 5, 1991, in Lexington, Kentucky, he first became known to all people through his YouTube channel, created in 2007. He played the role of a really geeky and socially awkward teenager, although it was hard to make out whether this was actually real or an act chalked up into perfection. Despite all the debates, what is undeniable was that Patrello’s character was a performance that resonated with so many of these people, helping him muster up an enormous library of followers on the platform.

Other than YouTube, Dax Flame continued into acting, appearing in major motion pictures like “21 Jump Street” and “Project X.” With great early promise he showed at Hollins wood, he soon vanished from the acting map and engaged in odd jobs like working at an ice cream store and writing books. iDubbbz revisited his life and current doings in the mini-documentary “Ice Cream Man,” which turned out to be released in 2020, gaining renewed public interest in his life and work.

Flame’s newest project, “The Hot Seat,” a haphazard talk show in the vein of “The Eric Andre Show,” again segues into his brand of humor. Teaming up with Tay Zonday, another early Internet sensation behind “Chocolate Rain,” Dax Flame fuses maniacal energy and poignant silence together for interviews with several of the Internet’s celebrities. The show captures a knack for comedy in very unlikely places and continues to amuse his cadre of devoted fans.

Although very little is known about the Italian roots of Patrello, apparently, a very diverse background and experiences helped pool in his unique way of content creation. With all the fluctuations in his career, Dax Flame stands on the internet as an eternal reason to be entertained, extraordinary, and ever-evolving with an eye on engaging the audience.
