As Italians, there are many things we own that we couldn’t live without and a few items that we just have lying around the house. Either way, it’s safe to say that we take pride in all of them. Here is our list of 10 things almost every Italian owns.
1. A Cantina

Whether your cantina is filled with wine, stacked with jars of tomato sauce or has salami hanging from the ceiling, this is usually Nonno’s favourite room in the house.
2. A Corno Necklace

For good luck and to protect from malocchio.
3. A Few Hundred Euros

From that vacation to Italy a few years back. We keep them for when we book our next trip there.
4. A Cross

Usually hanging over our beds or somewhere around the house.
5. An Espresso Machine

This is what we look forward to each morning.
6. Something From an Italian Designer

It could be a cologne, bag, wallet or belt. If we have an item from an Italian designer we treat it like gold.
7. A Rosary

Usually found hanging off a rearview mirror or in Nonna’s purse.
8. A Piece of Clothing That Represents Italy
We wear them loud and proud. (Especially during a Euro or World Cup)
9. A Collection of Wine

Big or small, most of us Italians love our wines.
10. A Stash of Plastic Bags

We don’t like to waste these. We will reuse them for everything.
