If you’ve planned or are planning a trip to Italy in the days or even the coming weeks, be prepared for an extreme heat warning in some major cities around Italy.
Cities that are expected to reach record high temperatures are Rome, Florence, Milan, Turin, Venice, Bologna, Naples, Bari, Verona, Frosinone, Latina, Viterbo, Perugia, Bolzano, Brescia and Rieti
With the temperature expecting to rise to 41ºC, this heatwave will worsen air pollution making it hard to breathe.
The Ministry of Health has advised spending most of the day indoors, and avoid overexerting yourself to prevent the risk of sunstroke, sunburn, dehydration and exhaustion.
