Spiaggia Rosa is an astonishing pink beach located on Italy’s island Budelli making it a sanctuary that people love to visit!
You may be wondering where the vibrant beach gets its pink hue. We can thank a combination of coral, crushed fossils, and crystals! Years ago, the pink sand was more plentiful but as a result of tourists keeping sand as a souvenir, the beach has become less dense.
As a method of preservation, the Italian government made it illegal to step foot on the beach in 1994. Nevertheless, tourists are now allowed to visit the beach in the summers but are not allowed to take sand. The Italian government takes preservation of this beautiful beach seriously and has rejected proposals to set up even eco-friendly resorts on the beach. We can only hope that preservation and respect allow this beach remains rosy and vivid for years to come.
