Sicily Will Pay for Half the Cost of Flights and 1/3 of Hotels After Lockdown ✈️

As lockdown subsides, the Italian government is considering new ways to attract tourists. The local government of Sicily is planning to pay up to half of tourists' flight costs.

They also plan to pay for 1 out of every 3 hotel nights spent in Sicily. According to the NY Post, Sicily has a $54 million budget to help ” ramp back up its appeal to visitors, by paying for a generous chunk of their visit”.

Sicily will also be waiving fees to visit museums. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte stated that quarantine measures will begin to be lifted on May 4th.
