The project was originally 150 million dollars, but increased dramatically to 180 to 200 million dollars! Paramount told Scorsese to seek out other partners considering the film would cost so much money. Scorsese reached out to Universal and MGM but was turned down.
Apple agreed to partner with Paramount and they are currently collaborating. Apple is going to be the production company of record and will finance the movie.
