Celebrity weddings are expected to be over the top events. They are expected to set the bar so high that others could never top it. What better place to achieve that goal than in Italy? Here are 5 of the most beautiful celebrity wedding destinations the country has to offer.
Borgo Egnazia
Located in Puglia, this beautiful property’s design was inspired by authentic Puglian villages. The hotel has two private beaches, a golf course, and a spa, which the website refers to as ‘poetic’. In 2017, Condè Nast UK called the Borgo Egnazia the “Most Life-Changing Experience”. The hotel was also named #1 Top Italian Resort by Travel + Leisure in 2018. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel married here in 2012.
Aman Venice
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin were married in 2014 at this luxury 16-century hotel. The interior of the property is covered in frescos and beautiful detailing throughout. This is also one of the only hotels in Venice that has two private gardens for guests. Condè Nast Traveler listed Aman Venice as one of the Best Hotels in the World for 2020.
Forte di Belvedere
This 16th-century castle in Florence was built doing the reign of Grand Duke Ferdinand I. Inside the walls, there is the Palazzina di Belvedere which became the vault for the Medici family to hold their valuables. Usually, this site is not available for weddings, but Kim Kardashian and Kanye West reportedly paid $400,000 to have their wedding here.
Castello Odescalchi di Bracciano
Located miles away from Rome, this Italian castle was the site of the 2006 wedding of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. Built in 1470, this castle is located in a strategic location that caused many of Italy’s noble families to fight over ownership. Pope Alexander VI wanted it so much he used his papal power to confiscate it. Since 1952, Castello Odescalchi has been open to the public and receives about 60,000 visitors every year.
Villa Pizzo
Built in 1435, Villa Pizzo is located on the shores of Lake Como near the villages of Cernobbio and Moltrasio. This villa is a prime spot for weddings, including the 2013 nuptials of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. Though the interiors of the structures are only open to private parties and weddings, the gardens are open for public tours from May to September.
