The policeman and his colleagues promptly provided the dog with food and water and the brought her to a municipal kennel where they attempted to track down her owner.
The dog had no microchip and was not reported as missing. During the next few days, the police officer visited the dog at the kennel.
The two developed a close bond. The police officer adopted her and named her Maggie.
