Italy Reports 2,500 New COVID-19 Cases in One Day for the First Time Since April

This Thursday, Italy reported 2,500 new COVID-19 cases in a 24 hour period.

According to the Health Ministry data, the number of cases increased by 2,548. This is the highest amount of new cases reported since April.

The majority of the cases have come from Veneto, Campania, Lombardia, and Lazio.

It should be noted that more individuals were tested during this period than on average.

Authorities explained that over 118.000 people were tested during this 24 hour period. On average, that number is usually below 100,000.
