Penne Pomodoro with Basil & Burrata – Recipe

For the Pomodoro Sauce

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 sweet onion finely diced
  • 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 10 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large can (28 oz) DOP San Marzano Plum Tomatoes
  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 basil sprigs
  • kosher salt

For the Penne Pomodoro

  • 1 lb penne pasta, cooked al dente
  • 2 balls burrata cut into thirds
  • 1 handful of fresh basil
  • olive oil
  • red pepper flakes
  • salt
