- 1 sweet onion finely diced
- 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 10 cloves garlic minced
- 1 large can (28 oz) DOP San Marzano Plum Tomatoes
- 1 pinch of sugar
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 basil sprigs

For the Penne Pomodoro
- 1 lb penne pasta, cooked al dente
- 2 balls burrata cut into thirds
- 1 handful of fresh basil
- olive oil
- red pepper flakes
- salt
