Empireonline.com has given eager viewers a first look at Disney Pixar’s Luca, the new animated film set to debut this summer. The movie will take place in the Italian Riviera as a “coming of age” story about two mischievous sea-creature boys and their growing friendship during a beautiful Italian summer where they appear as humans on land. And of course; they befriend a girl during their adventures that could change the course of their lives.
Take notice of the nonne in the background, a foccaceria, gelati, and the colorful apartments that line the piazza. Luca and his friend Alberto are pictured.
The director, Enrico Casarosa has stated Luca will be an ode to legendary Italian filmmakers, including Federico Fellini.
