Italian Artist Sells “Invisible” Sculpture for $18,000

Italian artist Salvatore Garau has just made history after selling the world's very first invisible sculpture.

This artist did not sell it for cheap either! The piece is titled Io Sono or “I Am.” Garau explained that the sculpture exists in a vacuum.

Originally, the price was between €6,000 and €9,000. But after some bidding, that changed drastically! The sculpture was sold for approximately $18,300 to an unnamed buyer.

According to Newsweek, Garau stated, “The vacuum is nothing more than a space full of energy. And even if we empty it and there is nothing left, according to the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, that ‘nothing’ has a weight. Therefore, it has energy that is condensed and transformed into particles, that is, into us.”

Possibly too deep to understand, right? But wait, there is more. Garau explains that the art needs to be displayed in an unobstructed area that is five by five feet. Further, it should be placed in a private home.
