Antipasti Hoagie Recipe 🥪

Lunch just got much more delicious!

These antipasti hoagies combine green olives, Giardiniera, anchovies, Italian herbs, onions, and strips of flank steak! They are incredible for beach trips, picnics, and get-togethers.

 

INGREDIENTS:

For the rolls:

  • 3 hoagie rolls
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

For the filling:

  • 1 pound flat iron or flank steak
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt divided
  • 1 red onion sliced 1/3 inch thick
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt divided
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil for grilling onions, plus 2 tablespoons for the giardiniera mix
  • 2 anchovy filets diced small, or 1/2 teaspoon anchovy paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 ½ cups giardiniera chopped, such as Morgan’s
  • 1/3 cup pitted green olives such as Cerignola or Castelvetrano, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped basil
  • 9 slices provolone cheese
  • 3 cups loosely packed baby arugula
