Alissa is an actor, singer, writer, and social media influencer. You could find her roaming throughout New York City researching restaurants of all kinds. She currently lives in Queens but was born and raised in the Bronx. Alissa is adamant that she will always be a Bronx girl, regardless of where she lives.
Alissa proudly hosts “Taste the World Tuesday,” featuring food from across the world on her social media pages. In this specific video, she highlights the staples of the Italian American community in the Bronx. From personal experience, I can assure you that Arthur Avenue is the closest you will get to Italy in the United States!

Like our last guest, Ray Abruzzo, Alissa stressed the need for those of Italian ancestry to explore their roots in Italy. Every summer, she makes it a point to visit the town where her father came from. The experience has taught Alissa to value the position that she’s in and the opportunities she has been given.
Alissa acts full time, but as many aspiring artists know, living your dream can come with a downside. While Alissa has found plenty of work, there have been some major lulls. With extended periods of downtime, Alissa pursed another passion of hers, food. Her Italian ancestry had a major influence here and it wasn’t long before others (like myself) picked up on that passion.
Italian Americans often flock together, regardless of the environment. It was only natural that I ask Alissa if there are many Italian Americans in her industry (or industries) and she had quite an interesting response to my question.
As far as what Alissa is currently up to, she recently wrapped up filming A Good Cop, which was her first major role on a television series. She also hosts a variety of virtual shows that contribute to noble causes.
