Ciao Alberto has officially debuted on Disney+! Directed and written by McKenna Harris, Ciao Alberto is the short sequel to the acclaimed Disney Pixar film, Luca.
Directed by Enrico Casarosa, Luca is a coming-of-age tale about a sea creature who finds his way out of the water and becomes a human on land. Along the way, he befriends a fellow sea creature and a human girl who help him have a life-altering adventure in the town of Portorosso.
The short film starts off with Luca writing to his fellow sea creature friend, Alberto, about his studies and discoveries at school with Giulia. This is Luca’s first time ever out of the deep sea and at a human school. The protagonist of this short film, Alberto, lives with Giulia’s father, Massimo. Alberto writes to his dear friend Luca all about his work and life with Massimo.
The short film ties up all of the loose ends of Luca, while still having a unique, new flair of its own. It is as heartwarming and colorful as its predecessor.
The beautiful yet fictional town of Portorosso is visited again in Ciao Alberto, bearing a close resemblance to the breathtaking Italian Riviera. Fans of Italy, the Italian culture, and Luca will love this short film that is perfect for families.
