Italy Regains World Championship Status in Volleyball

After 24 years, Italy wins a fourth world title in the Men's Volleyball World Championship.

Volleyball is one of the most fun and relaxing sports to play on the beach during the summer. Italy has the ability to combine both fun and professionalism by securing a World Championship title in the men’s division for the first time in 24 years!

The FIVB (International Volleyball Federation) Men’s World Championship came to a close this past week. The matches are held in multiple arenas as teams progress with the final tournament of 2022 taking place at the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland.  

The final game in the Men’s tournament was Italy vs. Poland. Italy dominated Poland with a final score of 3-1. Italy has become the second country with a high number of triumphs, second to the former Soviet Union which held 6 world championship titles. 

Their consistent scores throughout this season can aid for an another fantastic season next year. Head coach and 3 time former world champion Fefé di Giorgi knows how hard his team has worked to achieve this goal. He is extremely proud of his team’s success and is excited for it to continue.
