Thanks to the Italians, we not only have amazing car brands like Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Alfa Romeo, but we can also thank them for creating the Vespa and the Ducati also.

The genius behind the espresso machine is Angelo Moriondo of Turin Italy, but it was Luigi Bezzerra and Desiderio Pavoni who took Morindo’s invention and created the modern espresso machine that we see in cafes today. (Or if you’re lucky, in your home as well!)

3. Flavourful Wines

With a history dating back over 4,000 years, Italy is a world leader in wine production second to France. Popular brands being Barolo & Chianti, us Italians will find any excuse to enjoy a fine glass of wine whenever we get the chance.

No shocker here. Pizza is one of the most loved foods around the world and we have Raffaele Esposito to thank for it! Created in 1889, the Neapolitan chef first created the Margherita pizza with fresh tomato, mozzarella, basil and olive oil to represent the colours of the Italian flag. (I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t approve of pineapple on his beautiful creation!)

6. Nutella

If you don’t like Nutella then there might be something wrong with you and you can click off this page. But for the majority of you that can’t live without this delicious chocolate spread then you get it! Thanks to the great Italian bakery owner Pietro Ferrero, Nutella was created in the 1940s. (Thank you, Mr. Ferrero, for making my breakfasts lunches, and sometimes dinners amazing with Nutella!)
