My mom would make pastina for us for breakfast on a cold morning before school and if our stomachs didn’t feel too good; but ours was made with milk, butter and a little bit of maple syrup or sugar. It is still one of my favorites, and I’m a grandmother now.
my mom made it with milk butter salt egg jsut like the back of the ronzoni box soooo good
My mother used water instead of broth as do I. I put the pastina in boiling water and throw a scrambled egg and when its cooked plenty of Romano cheese. salt and pepper of course. Sometimes I dice up a zucchini and cook it in there also. Delish!!
That is how it’s done. No milk, sugar, or broth.
My mom made it the water chicken bit fresh parsley chicken stock and patina no cheese
