James Gandolfini’s Son “Blown Away” from the Sopranos Convention

Michael Gandolfini, son of James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano), sends an Instagram message, showing his appreciation for Sopranoscon.

This past weekend (November 23rd and 24th) held the first ever “Sopranoscon” – A convention honoring the famous show, The Sopranos.

The convention was a massive success, bringing in over 7,500 fans throughout the weekend. Over 50 cast members were in attendance to take pictures and sign autographs. Memorabilia, contests, music, and drinks at the ‘Bada Bing’ were all present! Even some merchandise from the Hardcore Italians Store was being sold alongside Sopranoscon official merchandise.

Aside from all of the fun, it was a serious tribute to the show and cast. Although the star of the show, James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano), has sadly passed away, he was not forgotten at the convention in the least.

View below a giant college of Tony, one of the biggest hit items at the event:

James Gandolfini’s son, Michael Gandolfini, was so impressed with the tribute that he personally reached out to thank the creators for the great job they did.

Michael will be playing his fathers role in the upcoming prequel, The Many Saints of Newark. It is awesome to see him carry the torch forward!

James Gandolifini’s daughter, Liliana, also loved the tribute! She was in attendance to take a photo standing in-front of the sign.

Cast-mates also spoke very highly of James Gandolfini at the event (also in tons of interviews outside of the event).

Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy), there to promote his new line of sauce, spoke about how James really helped his career and those of everyone on the show.

Great job to the creators Michael, Danny, and Joe for putting on an amazing event!

  1. It wasn’t just Michael and Danny. Joe Fama is also a partner in the creation of Sopranoscon. Please update your story to include him. He busted his ass too – physically as well as mentally – and it’s not right to leave him out.
