Coronavirus’s Impact on Italian Football

The coronavirus has spread across the world and aside from China the hardest hit country has undoubtedly been Italy. The entire country is on lockdown and very minimal travel is being permitted. Sports have always been an escape during difficult times such as this. Unfortunately Serie A has been suspended for at least one month and also as of right now there have been 11 confirmed cases of Serie A players who have gotten the coronavirus. Even the Italian national team might need to wait until December or till next summer to compete in the Euro 2020 competition.

It is during times like these that we truly see the best in people just like in this story shared via Italian Football TV.

During this global pandemic we have also seen many acts of kindness and hope. There have been many videos circling around social media of Italian citizens on their porches in isolation singing amongst their neighbors and it is a heartwarming thing to see.

Even though we don’t have football we always have each other. Stay safe everyone, keep staying positive, and help one another.
