According to Italian newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano, several bosses were released due to their ages. Italy’s prisons are overcrowded, making the virus extremely dangerous in these facilities.
60-year-old Pasquale Zagaria, shown in the images below was allowed to return to mainland Italy from Sardinia this Saturday. Pasquale suffers from cancer and doctors say that they would not be able to treat him in prison. Therefore, his health condition and the pandemic was sufficient to release him from prison.
