Italian Restaurant Spotlight: Big Ange’s Eatery 🇮🇹

Located in Arlington Heights, Illinois, Big Ange's Eatery is an Italian family owned business featuring BBQ and delicious Italian sandwiches.

Big Ange’s Eatery features incredible house smoked BBQ meats, handcrafted Italian sandwiches as well as delicious house made Italian ice and gelato. Located in Arlington Heights, Illinois; Big Ange’s Eatery is Italian family owned and operated and nearly everything is made from scratch.

The Fridono family opened the establishment in 2016 and sold out so quickly on opening day, they had to close and hire more staff in order to accommodate the demand. Not surprisingly, they continue to sell out of their house smoked meats daily and remain one of the most popular dining spots in the area.  By using carefully selected meats and locally baked bread, the Fridono family clearly distinguishes itself from other hot dog joints and sandwich shops. The quality of the Fridono’s food is something you can see and taste.

Big Ange’s has adapted to the restrictions in place on restaurants in Illinois during the pandemic. They are available for takeout and in addition to their outdoor patio, the Fridono’s transformed their parking lot into an additional seating area that meets social distancing guidelines.

Their classic Pepper & Eggs sandwich served with house made giardiniera – a truly divine breakfast sandwich.

The Italian Eggplant Sandwich – eggplant parmesan on top of Italian sausage and bread. One of my favorites and the eggplant parmesan is outstanding.

The glorious Porchetta sandwich. This sandwich was featured on Chicago’s Best. It’s juicy, perfectly seasoned and served with basil mayo. Side of creamy house made potato salad.

The best house made Italian ice, so refreshing with candied lemon!
