Art Aia – Creatives / In / Residence is an international art residency near the comune of Sesto al Reghena in the north-eastern Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

The Region is almost completely unknown to tourists even though it is a beautiful place to explore especially for its landscapes, from mountains like the stunning Dolomites, lakes, vineyards to the Adriatic coastline.
Friuli-Venezia Giulia is also rich in culture, cuisine, and architectural style of its pretty towns. The International art residency is located inside a farm immersed in the nature of the Friulan territory and its aims are the cultural research and the artistic experimentation by hosting artists from all over the world allowing them to focus on the development of their creative process.
In the past few years, several master teachers have also been collaborating with the venue like John Strasberg, son of Lee Strasberg, who held two International acting workshops as well as Italo-Palestinian artist Mustafa Sabbagh who taught a photography workshop in 2014. The venue has various working spaces at the disposal of the visiting artists.
Spacious rooms and outdoor spaces are available for production, exhibiting, exchange, and leisure, including the fields and the vineyard where installations and performances can be realized. Exhibiting events are generally open to the local public and the cultural center is developing programs to raise audience consciousness about topics like global warming and climate change.
Since 2018, Art Aia – Creatives / In / Residence collaborates with the Arts Territory Exchange in the Residency in Sustainable Practice which is an off-shoot program that has been formed in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainable Practice in the Arts (CSPA). Two artists per year have the opportunity to develop their practices concerning ideas of ecology and sustainability by attending a one-week residency at the Italian art center.
Art Aia has also a subsidiary space in Berlin, Germany, Art Aia – La Dolce Berlin which is a presentation space, a Pop-up Gallery where artists can showcase their works in a familiar and intimate atmosphere and it is also an independent production company specialized in documentaries and low-end narratives with themes including nature, creativity, art, and gender equality. Art Aia also connects cultural organizations, individual artists, and creative businesses interested in trading services, goods, and liberal donations to create new opportunities for exchange and collaborations.
Among its partners, there is also the Artist-Led Open Collective Uronto Artist Community affiliated with Art Initiative Bangladesh-AIB with whom Art Aia has been curating the 8th and 9th Episode of the Uronto Residential Art Exchange Program.
