It’s here! The highly anticipated teaser trailer for Disney and Pixar’s Luca has finally hit the internet. Immediately, the sounds, music, and sights of the Italian riviera conquer the viewer’s senses, taking them on a journey through Italy. Luca is a story about three friends who do not quite fit in, but find their own joy in being outsiders. Also, one of them has a huge secret that no one can know; he is part sea creature, part human!
A boat named “Gloria” glides on the effortless Italian sea. The old men play an intense game of the traditional Italian card game, Scopa. People converse over hot espresso in a cafe. An adorable Nonna hangs her laundry out of her window. It’s only the beginning of this trailer and it already transports you to Italy without ever leaving your seat!
Disney and Pixar have a home run on their hands with this movie. The main characters are full of spunk, life, and adventure from just a short glimpse at them running through the grassy hillsides and carved cliffs of the Italian coast. Colorful sea creatures that turn into humans grace the Italian seas. And to top off this heartwarming trailer, a rendition of “You are My Sunshine” plays in English and Italian.
