Italy’s Lamont Marcell Jacobs Takes Gold in 100-Meter Dash – Fastest Man in World ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Italy's Lamont Jacobs received gold at the Tokyo Olympics today.

The 26-year-old was born in El Paso, Texas to an Italian mother and an American father as his name suggests. His time was 9.80 seconds, finishing 0.04 seconds ahead of the USA’s Fred Kerley who took silver. Jacobs finished 0.09 seconds ahead of Canada’s Andre De Grasse.

He made history by earning Italy’s first gold medal in the event. Jacobs became the first European athlete to win the 100m sinceย Linford Christie did in 1992 in Barcelona.
