Adeline’s Pasta Sauce Recipe

Adeline is my Italian grandmother. This is the sauce she would make every Sunday!

Ciao! Thank your wanting to learn more about my grandmother’s sauce recipe!

My grandmother, Adeline, took great pride in her food and cooking. Every Sunday, our family got together and she would make this sauce.

My mother learned her recipe and continued her tradition after she passed.

A lot of Sundays, we would add pork, sausage, or meatballs into the sauce and let it cook together. It comes out the best. Feel free to do that as well!

Ingredients

For 1lb of pasta:

  • 1 can of Tomato Paste
  • 1 can of Peeled Tomatoes (my grandmother used Marconi)
  • Oregano
  • Fresh Basil
  • Basil Leaves
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Onion Ring

Directions

  1. Put sauce pan on stove and coat the bottom with olive oil
  2. Put cut onion in sauce pan. Cook until sizzle
  3. Put cut garlic in sauce pan. Cook until sizzle
  4. Put tomato paste in and stir for 5 minutes.
  5. Blend tomatoes in blender. Pour in on no heat and stir
  6. Put in teaspoon of salt. Coat top of sauce with oregano, basil leaves, and garlic powder.
  7. Cook sauce until bubble. Then turn on low heat for one hour. Stir every 10/15 minutes
