There is nothing better than the freshest ingredients on a sandwich! This Caprese sandwich is quick, easy, and tasty! Perfect for lunch on a summer day!
- 2 rolls of Italian bread
- 2 ripe tomatoes
- fresh mozzarella
- 5-6 basil leaves (more if you desire)
- extra virgin olive oil
- Cut the mozzarella and tomatoes into half-inch slices. Cut the bread in half long ways. Fill the sandwich with a layer of tomatoes then mozzarella, then basil leaves. Continue until you run out of ingredients. Add a bit of oregano on top and a little olive oil and enjoy!
