‘Ino is a panineria in Firenze that showcases high-quality, handpicked ingredients that are largely sourced from the Tuscan region of Italy. It is located steps away from Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery on a picture perfect side street, perpendicular to the Arno river. There are two other locations in Milan and Moscow as well!
There are many popular panini shops in Florence but ‘Ino stands out from the rest with its carefully sourced products that chef/owner Alessandro Frassica selects. ‘Ino was recommended to me by a chef who eats there every single day, so I knew it was something really special. This is the kind of place that chefs and locals come to eat because the quality is so good and its popularity is not just based on Instagram hype.

Alessandro Frassica has also written several cookbooks: Il Pan’ino, Il Pan’ino Dal Mare and Veggie Pan’ino which include recipes from the panineria! They come in both English and Italian.

The panini are made to order using high-quality cheeses, cured meats and veggies. The bread is incredible, unique and locally baked – a really nice touch to the seasonal ingredients inside. The Toscanino is one of my favorite panini here and I think about it often! It has this amazingly flavorful salame that is perfectly complimented by sweet fig mostarda and aged pecorino. Simple and delicious. I’ve tried to replicate it but it’s impossible; the ingredients are so unique and you just cannot get that quality in the States.
‘Ino offers red and white wine, craft beer and select other beverages. The atmosphere inside is cool and contemporary and the staff is friendly and welcoming.Â
